Frequently Asked Questions

The questions that come up most often on the Dust Front RTS community forums — multiplayer, factions, release status and the mechanics that trip everyone up.

Heads up: release, scope and feature answers below reflect the developer's public statements and community discussion about a game that is still in development — they can change. Unit and building stats elsewhere on the site come straight from the extracted game data.
Is Dust Front RTS out yet?+
Not in full. Dust Front is in active development by a solo developer, and a free build is currently playable on Steam. The developer has signalled the complete game is still a long way off, and there's no firm release date — so everything on this site is built from the current build.
Is there multiplayer, PvP or co-op?+
No. Per the developer, Dust Front is a single-player game — there are no PvP or co-op modes. The challenge comes from the campaign and skirmish difficulty against the AI.
How many factions are there?+
Five factions ship in the game's data. Rebels and Mutants are the named-playable factions in the current build; Brotherhood, Yellow and a Neutral set round out the files and should develop toward the full release. See the factions overview for rosters.
How long is the campaign?+
The developer has described a campaign in roughly the 6–8 hour range. Treat that as a developer estimate for a game still in development — scope and length can change before release.
Is there a strategic / global map?+
Yes. A Total War-style strategic layer sits over the real-time battles — you manage forces on a global map and drop into RTS engagements from there.
What languages does it support?+
The current build ships with Russian and English. Additional languages — Chinese in particular — have been requested on the community forums but aren't confirmed.
How do I unlock a specific unit?+
Advanced units are gated behind buildings — construct the prerequisite structure and the unit becomes producible. The tech tree maps every building to what it unlocks.
How do I repair vehicles?+
With dedicated repair units — the BREM, the TRM “Silach”, a repair site or a construction crane — each working differently. Only the BREM can recover wrecked super-heavies. Full detail is in the Repair & Recovery guide.
Why do my harvesters jam, and how many should I build?+
A processing plant handles about two harvesters — that's stated in the plant's own description. Over-saturate it and the surplus harvesters have nowhere to deposit and stall. Scale harvesters and plants together. See the Economy & Logistics guide.
Is this site official?+
No. DustFrontDB is an unofficial, fan-made database built from the game's extracted data. It is not affiliated with the developers or publishers of Dust Front RTS.
